Comment on Everything I Need for My Period Each Month! by atozynco http://myperiodblog.com/2014/07/19/everything-period-month/#comment-40514 Wed, 13 Jan 2016 04:49:04 +0000 http://myperiodblog.com/?p=2394#comment-40514 That’s a wonderful addition! I completely agree. I’ve found that my periods are messy regardless of what I use (tampons, pads, or menstrual cups) – I always risk staining my bedsheets. Good luck with the prototype :)

Deuteronomy 31: 6e certainly not but one thing we Christian must know is the fact that the blood of Jesus has cleansed us from every impurity, and when you come before God & plead the blood of Jesus, you are no longer seen as filthy (dirty) but pure in accordance to Hebrew 10:10b from easy to read version. it says and because of what Jesus did, we are made holy through the sacrifice of Christ’s body. so brethren, Holiness is not what you do it is who you are therefore, be Holiness conscious and not sin conscious for as a man/ woman thinks in his heart so is he/she Proverbs 23:7. because we are no longer under law of moses but under grace as Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. Galatians 3:13. selah.

Any woman who has had a kotex on for more than 8 hours knows for sure how awful the smell of dried rotten blood is.

Islam and the Bible both agree that men must not have sex with their wives who are having their menses. Islam, however, allows for men to be near their wives and to love them and care for them, while the Bible orders it’s male followers (Jews and Christians) to stay away from their wives and to not even come near them.
In the Bible, anything the woman touches while having her menses becomes unclean, while this is not the case in Islam, because our Prophet peace be upon him used to recite the Noble Quran with his head on his wife’s lap while she was having her menses. The Bible treats the women who are having their menses as a disease that men must stay away from, while the Islam still keeps it’s honor and respect to them.

Comment on Can Menstrual Cycles Synchronize with the Lunar Cycle? by Sbird http://myperiodblog.com/2015/08/23/can-menstrual-cycles-synchronize-lunar-cycle/#comment-39874 Wed, 30 Dec 2015 22:08:11 +0000 http://myperiodblog.com/?p=2447#comment-39874 Interesting post.

Not sure about the lack of proof of animals synchronising with moon. Corals mass spawn on Great Barrier Reef after full moon. Various nocturnal animals are more/less active during full moons due to predication issues under lighter conditions.

Those rags were then washed and reused, like diapers for babies. I do not believe the notion of just bleeding on their clothes. That is ridiculous

Comment on Most Effective Treatments for Menstrual Pain by Liz http://myperiodblog.com/2014/06/02/treatment-of-menstrual-pain-dysmenorrhea/#comment-37107 Tue, 03 Nov 2015 13:38:28 +0000 http://myperiodblog.wordpress.com/?p=1176#comment-37107 I have had painful cramps since I was 12. I would spend the first day of my period in the fetal position tossing and turning. As I grew older the pain switched from one day, to two days a cycle, and stopped being treatable with any over the counter pain meds. I tried the pill, working out, taking away caffeine and chocolate. Nothing worked. I ended up trying women’s best friend off of amazon, which worked while I took it but was incredibly expensive. I am so glad people now see the pain as something we don’t have to live with, that we aren’t just born with having to take it, or that’s it’s just “in our heads” or we are over reacting. I am glad the subject has been taken seriously and they have done these studies. I started taking fish oil after reading the studies, and my pain went down 75%. I can treat it with Tylenol now, or a cup of ginger tea. It feels so much better. I have a very high pain tolerance from the years of menstral cramps, and even having it treatable with over the counter pills again, it is like a new lease on life. I feel so much better.

I am so upset every month when I get my period as often the blood itself is too thick to work with. I love enjoying every piece of art! especially the ones with the bits in – makes me just want to pick them out with my teeth. I also think it’s important to teach children about this artform and I always share any art I come across with both of my children, my youngest is especially enthusiastic. Keep up the good work!

I know this comment is a little old, but I’d like to tell you that the reason we can’t pray during periods isn’t because it’s dirty or whatever. In Islam, you shouldn’t pray if during prayer time you’re actively bleeding, leaking pus, urine, leaking tears, or snot (the last two only apply if it’s due to an illness. For example, if you yawn and tear up that’s fine or if you have a runny nose because of the cold that’s fine. But if it’s because of a fever or flu, that’s not okay). These things break your wudu (the rinsing of your hands, feet, face, etc. to be clean enough to perform holy activities) and prayer. Since you’re constantly, actively bleeding for 4-10 days during your period you can’t perform holy activities. As for sex, I’m not sure why we can’t have sex during our periods. Maybe it’s because period sex is very messy and sometimes painful for the person with an already sore vagina, but that’s just my view. On another note, thank you for the wonderful article!
